Find and Follow God

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” — Proverbs 3:5–6

As men, we often feel the need to take charge—chart the course, make the call, and push forward. But following God’s will is not about forcing our way; it’s about faithfully walking His way. True strength is found in surrender, trusting that our Heavenly Father knows the path better than we do.

God has already spoken clearly through His Word. His revealed will is not a mystery—it’s the unchanging truth of Scripture. Before we chase personal ambitions or try to “hear a voice from heaven,” we must first ask: Does this align with God’s Word?

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105

Daily time in Scripture is not optional for a man who wants to follow God—it’s essential. The more we know His Word, the less we’ll stumble in confusion.

We all have dreams, ambitions, and preferences—but they must be laid at the foot of the cross. Jesus modeled this perfectly in Gethsemane when He prayed, “Not My will, but Yours be done” (Luke 22:42). Surrender doesn’t mean abandoning responsibility; it means trusting God’s plan more than our own.

Ask yourself:

Am I pursuing this because I want it—or because God is leading me? Am I willing to obey even if it costs me something?

God’s will is not always revealed in advance. Sometimes, He calls us to step forward without seeing the whole map. Abraham left his home “not knowing where he was going” (Hebrews 11:8), yet he trusted the One who led him. Faith means moving when God says “go,” even when the destination is still hidden.

“We walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7

4. Living Out His Will in Everyday Life

Following God’s will isn’t limited to big life decisions—it’s woven into the small moments:

Choosing integrity at work Leading your family in prayer Forgiving when it’s easier to hold a grudge Serving when no one notices

These daily acts of obedience shape the man God is calling you to be.
