Grace or Grudge

Is there unresolved tension between you today? Maybe you’re still carrying the sting of words spoken in the past, frustration from a recent disagreement, or the ache of a broken promise. Perhaps disappointment has crept in as your hopes and expectations go unmet, or you feel rejected as jobs, family, or friends compete for your spouse’s attention. Maybe you’ve been wounded by their struggles with lust, anger, or selfishness. You’re doing your best to be patient, but resentment is quietly growing with each passing day.

Unforgiveness doesn’t just divide your marriage—it creates a barrier between you and God. Jesus teaches that we cannot ask for His mercy if we refuse to extend it to one another (Matthew 6:14–15). Instead, bring your pain and frustration to God in prayer. Ask Him for compassion and understanding—for the strength to make peace in your home. Trust Him to help your spouse grow and change, and call on Him for humility to recognize your own need for forgiveness.

Today, choose to lay down what you’re holding against each other. Begin again, offering the same grace you have freely received in Christ. Let God’s love be the foundation for healing, restoration, and a fresh start in your marriage.
